The Lott Family: The Mantel

The project that took weeks. And far longer than either of us expected. This is the before shot of the mantel.

We decided to sand our mantel so that we could re-stain it in a darker color that we liked better. The sanding was difficult, the stain that was on the mantel was stubborn & didn't want to be removed. So the sanding ended up taking us a couple of weeks (we could only work on it in the evenings and some Saturday's as we both have full time jobs and were planning a wedding at the time). We even had Ethan come over and help a couple of times (thank you), he was very handy with the sander and was even willing to help with some of the hand sanding.
